Amsterdam in spring is something else
The canals look absolutely stunning when the tulips are out. Walked along the Prinsengracht and it felt like a postcard. The city is so easy to get around by bike and everyone just goes with the flow. Loved every bit of it.
A city that just works
Everything about Amsterdam clicked for me. The canal houses along Herengracht are gorgeous, the food markets are great, and getting around is dead easy. Stroopwafels fresh off the iron are a must. The locals are super laid-back and helpful too.
Museum lover's dream
The Rijksmuseum alone is worth the trip. Spent way too long in there and still didn't see everything. The whole Museumplein area is beautiful and has a really relaxed feel. Amsterdam just keeps delivering no matter where you turn. Highly recommend.
Best city break I've had in years
Amsterdam has so much going on without ever feeling overwhelming. The Jordaan neighborhood is incredibly pretty with its little streets, independent shops and cozy brown cafes. Had some of the best herring of my life at a street stall. Really solid trip overall.
Way more than just canals
People always talk about the canals but the food scene here is seriously good. Tried bitterballen and Dutch pancakes everywhere and never got bored. The Nine Streets area is brilliant for shopping and just wandering. Amsterdam has real character to it.
Great winter city trip
Amsterdam in December is genuinely magical. The canal lights reflect off the water at night and the whole city just glows. Warmed up with erwtensoep - a thick Dutch pea soup - at a small local spot near Leidseplein. Cold but totally worth it.
